BARE DIE ELEMENT EVALUATION based On Customer’s Requirements

Fully Compliant

As a certified, MIL-PRF-38535 DLA certified manufacturer, ES Components can manufacture fully compliant, QPL microcircuits under the ES Components brand. In addition, ES Components can provide compliant military product from our DLA certified suppliers.

Mil Equivalent/Lower Cost

ES Components can perform specific screening identified by the customer’s SCD or PO MIL-PRF-38535, MIL-PRF-19500 or other pertinent Military specification. ES Components offers standard flows such as the -2 flow for discrete components that includes 100% screening to the JANTXV flow called out in MIL-PRF-19500 without Group B/C or D. This flow can provide a more cost effective option.

Bare Die Element Evaluation

Element Evaluation can be per the customer’s specific Source or Specification Control Drawing (SCD) and/or Military Performance Specifications such as MIL-PRF-38534.

ES Components performs this service for many of our customers, which entails building a sample of the die into a package and can include Environmental Screening, Electrical Screening, Burn-In, Life Test, Wirebond Pull Test, Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) Analysis, and Destructive Physical Analysis (DPA). This step can be used to avoid counterfeit devices by verifying the specific lot or wafer ‘s performance in addition to Visual Inspection. The records for Element Evaluation are kept by lot (by wafer for Class K) and fully traceable by shipment.

Additional quality information

All of our franchised Manufacturers, including Vishay, Micrel and Zetex, provide their products with Original Manufacturers’ Certificate of Compliance (C of C’s) by their specific lot numbers. All material receipt records and C of C’s are kept by lot and fully traceable by shipment. All records are kept for a minimum of 7 years. To date, ESC has kept all of our historical records.

ES Components has the largest inventory of obsolete die dating back to early 1980’s. These materials are often used by legacy Military Programs and to satisfy DMSMS requirements. Much of this material came from the inventories of Elmo Semiconductor, a prominent die distributor in 1980s and 1990s. In addition, our obsolete die and DMSMS inventory also includes material from Kimbel and other Military Hybrid Manufacturers. These items are all segregated by the manufacturer’s lot number and the majority of them have the original manufacturer’s C of Cs. In some cases, older Die Manufacturer’s did not issue C of C’s in the 1980’s and a different shipping manifest or form of documentation may be available. ES Components will review the documents to ensure the authenticity of the products to best of our capability before shipment. ESC will provide all documents available and/or Element Evaluation (item 2 above) upon request. In all cases, ES Components will perform an AQL Visual Inspection (step 1 above). All shipments will have full lot traceability. All records are kept for a minimum of 7 years. To date, ESC has kept all of our historical records.

ES Components is the First Semiconductor Die Distributor to Receive AS6081 Certification

ES Components is now officially certified to the AS6081 standard in support of its customers’ AS5553 requirements. On November 2, 2015 NQA (An ANAB Accredited Company), presented ES Components with a Certificate of Registration.

Rational Of The AS6081 Standard

This standard was created in response to a significant and increasing volume of fraudulent/counterfeit electronic parts entering the aerospace supply chain, posing significant performance, reliability, and safety risks. This standard was created to provide uniform requirements, practices and methods to mitigate the risks of purchasing and supplying fraudulent/counterfeit electronic parts.

“We are proud to be the first die distributor to adopt this new standard. When a customer comes to us they can rest assured that ES Components has processes and procedures in place to mitigate their risk of receiving fraudulent/counterfeit devices. This is one more reason for customers to buy from us.” said Mehrdad Namin, Vice President and General Manager, of ES Components.

Our ISO Certification

We obtained our ISO Certification through National Quality Assurance on January 30,2002. We take our Quality Management System very seriously and we continually strive to improve upon its effectiveness. Quality can be defined as "the degree to which a set of inherent characteristics fulfills requirements." Quality may also be referred to as "the degree of excellence of a thing." Quality is not a concept at ES Components. It is the driving force behind everything that we do. We are committed to providing you with the highest quality products and services to fulfill your requirements. Our relentless pursuit of excellence
is second to none.

Class 10,000 Clean Room

ES Components has on-site, a certified class 10,000 clean room facility for the inspection & handling of all our bare die, wafer products. All inspection is performed under a Class 100 hood. ES Components maintains full ESD protection throughout the die inspection process. Inspectors are continuously monitored through the use of DESCO Continuous Ground Monitors. ES Components utilizes high power Nikon and Leica metallurgical microscopes for all bare die inspection. Our clean room inspectors have over 75 years of combined experience in quality inspection; they are the backbone of our production team.

Conflict Minerals (Metal) Policy

The United States has enacted legislation, the Dodd-Frank Act (Section 1502), that will require public companies to disclose whether their products contain certain conflict metals (Tin, Gold, Tantalum, and Tungsten). This law, beginning in 2014, affects many of our publicly traded, Franchised suppliers. ES Components will continue to support our customer's and supplier's efforts in complying with their reporting requirements.
